Manchester City Women have confirmed the contract extension of USA under-23 international Daphne Corboz.
Corboz, from Mobile Alabama, joined the club in July straight out of Georgetown University turning down the oppourtunity to attend medical school to play in the WSL.
The attacking midfielder had an instant impact at City, replacing the injured Tash Harding just nine minutes into the post-World Cup phase of the season and secured her place in side before succumbing to an undisclosed injury herself.
The American’s displays, which drew strong comparisons to David Silva, ensured City finished in 2nd place, following a late title challenge which saw wins against Liverpool, Arsenal and eventual Champions Chelsea, and Champions League football for the first time?
Its further good news for City after it was confirmed that Nikita Parris was returning to the club after her loan spell with Everton had initially looked to have expired.
